For Pete’s Sake!

Pete Hidalgo ‘58

Pete Hildago West Point Fund ImageThe president and board of directors of the West Point Society of Tallahassee, with respect and lasting friendship, changed the name of our annual scholarship program in January of 2009 to

The West Point Society of Tallahassee
BG Peter D. Hidalgo Memorial Scholarship Fund

By this gesture and others, the Long Gray Line endures, as does the memory of our very good friend and comrade.  This scholarship program was truly Pete’s and from inception it was his project. He  believed in it strongly, campaigned for it vigorously, and championed it continually with his quiet determination. The renaming was approved with gratitude by the Hidalgo family.

This scholarship has been awarded annually since 2005, assisting a Marion Military Institute cadet fully qualified for admission to West Point the next academic year. Marion held a very special place in Pete’s heart.  As an MMI  graduate, the institution was fundamental to his development as an officer and gentleman.

Please consider making a contribution in Pete’s memory and honor.  No amount is too small, any amount will help.  WPSOT is a 501[c][3] tax-exempt service organization. Each contribution is fully deductible and receipts are provided.  One hundred percent of funds received benefits Pete’s program.
